In the year dawning on the last quarter of the 20th century, a couple walking peacefully through the plains near Altus, OK came across a smoldering steel drum. Inside they found a miraculous pink, mewling babe. A gift from the gods, surely, since the woman and man had been told that they were unable to have children. They raised him well, and were delighted to discover that the child was extraordinarily bright, beautiful, and kind. He made everyone around him feel slightly warmer, more happy and peaceful.

That's why I had to fucking kill him and stick his head on a pole.

My muse flogs me onward with the hateful intensity of a meth-addicted jockey. I do, however, hate NaNoWriMo and everything it stands for.

Having been forced to answer this one more than a few times, here's the scoop:

If something I say here in my blog pisses you off and you're a fan of the comic, too damned bad. I don't care if you've bought every single piece of merchandise we've ever produced and read every comic I've ever drawn multiple times a day - this does not give you the right to tell me to censor my opinions. I love our fans, and they're the main reason the comics and books keep on coming. However, you do not get to dangle your almighty dollar in front of me and whinge that "if only you agreed with my opinion, this would be YOURS!"

That's a horrible concept no matter how you look at it.

So if you disagree SO STRONGLY with my opinions that you just HAVE to tell me I'm losing a fan, do us all a favor and email me privately. Better yet, just accept the fact that I have a different opinion from yours, and the world is big enough to allow us both to exist.

Then go get hit by a garbage truck.

Due to the following things I support and believe in, I have a hard time choosing a political candidate:
- Gun owner's rights
- Freedom of speech and expression
- Atheism
- Abortion rights
- Fewer taxes of the lower and middle classes
- Legalization and taxation of all currently prohibited substances
- Stopping the war in Iraq
- Annexation of Mexico and Canada
- The abolition of States' rights
- Raising the driving age in America to 21 and lowering the drinking age to 16
- Legalization of prostitution and gambling nationwide
- Public welfare
- Keeping American Jobs in America
- Tax breaks for interracial marriages
- The ability to opt out of Social Security
- Development of alternative energy sources
- Required intelligence testing of anyone who wishes to vote
- Promoting a zero tolerance policy on Drunk Driving that results in permanent loss of one's driver's license on the first offense
- Gay marriage
- Socialized Medicine
- Public Education Reform
- Forced Bilingualism in America

Please, for the love of fuck, do not recommend I check out the Green Party or the Libertarians. Both parties are full of asshats who do not represent my beliefs.

If'n ya friend me, I probably won't automatically friend ya back. Unless you're hot and send me nude photos or something. Most people on my Friends list are there for precisely that reason, except for a few who merely gave me sexual favors.

I am an atheist to the core - it has been even said that I am an antitheist. If you are over the age of four and you still believe in an imaginary friend, you are insane. I did not arrive at this "philosophy" by an easy road. I was raised in one of the many Christian churches, and left it at the age of 15 to study all religions worldwide - at the time I considered myself Agnostic.

Since then, I have realized that all religions, both organized and non, are nothing but silly superstitions that humans create out of ignorance, fear or stupidity... or (even more malicious) with the abject desire to control others. They exist to make people spend money, or to make people feel better for no reason at all. This world has real problems that exist in every nation, every city, every home. Some choose to actually do something about the real problems. Others pray, an act that does nothing for anyone except the praying person.

Fuck prayer and fuck your god(s). Pick up a shovel and start digging, you lazy sonsabitches, because those hands can be put to better use than clasped while you talk to yourself.

Some say I am a "devout agnostic" or that my belief is "just another organized religion." These people are fucking stupid and should kill themselves. I am not "devout," and my atheism is not part of any large Atheist movement. I know a couple of other atheists - we don't discuss our lack of faith, ever. I've only read a few pages of Dawkins, and stopped after that because it was boring. My belief is founded on the very simple, core knowledge that there is no deity looking after us. This bullshit was created by other humans who only wanted to control everything.

Because of this, I will lash out at you if you mention your religion uninvited in my journal. It will not be nice and it will not be pretty. Fuck you and your imaginary bullshit. Atheists are persecuted the world over - not like the Christian majority claim to be, not like the religious majority claim to be. We actually are. Even stating that you are "such and such" is open license for me to beat you into the ground, as such statements only serve to empower the speaker and their religion. If it were up to me, I'd have you all denied the vote and the right to own firearms. You are insane.

It's sick and fucked up, but atheists are the ones everyone else looks at and thinks they're crazy. And in the end, all we want is for the rest of you to grow the fuck up and drop the bullshit that's caused wars, torture, persecution, hatred, and destruction of innocent people who didn't believe in your fairy tale easter bunny gods. You never hear about armies of atheists who are trying to invade a country of agnostics. There's a reason for this.

I belong to no religion at all. Religion is not welcome here. And when I make a post that derides religions, you do not get to defend yourself unless you're particularly interesting and have a COMPLETELY ORIGINAL defense. If you claim any of the following:
- I, J. Grant, just don't understand [insert wacky religion here]
- I must not know the bible/koran/baghavad gita/siddharta/buddhism/unitarianism/wicca/satanism well enough
- I just don't understand what you're saying
- there must be a god since so many people believe in one
- there is historical evidence backing up your claim that [insert crazy loonie shit here] is true
- I'm just angry at god

YOU FAIL. I will ban you posthaste. Go whack off with your egotistical, small-minded crap elsewhere. Like your own LJ.
